Your Crown Fitting and Coronation
Even though they involve more work than veneers, the general steps in the dental-crown procedure are very similar. It is very important that your crown fit properly.
Dr. Nicholson begins with a dental consultation that includes an examination of the affected tooth, surrounding teeth, gums, and bone structure to help him determine if a crown is your best option. From there, he makes a digital intra-oral scan of your teeth (no more goopy impressions to make you gag!) for a customized, precision fit. In most cases, he will insert a temporary crown while your permanent crown is crafted. Sometimes, extra time is needed to ensure proper fit and comfort.
Upon your return appointment, Dr. Nicholson will place the crown and check things like your bite, look, and overall fit. He will answer any questions before permanently sealing the crown.
